Ygnacio Benitez, Jr., age 78, passed away on Saturday, February 17th, 2024.


A Rosary will be Recited on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 23rd, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel, 200 E. 37th Street, Snyder, Texas 79549 with Mr. Joey Cummings officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home at Snyder Cemetery.


Mr. Benitez was born on March 25th, 1945 in Snyder, Texas to Nathan and Virginia (Cadena) Benitez. He married Criselda Gonzales on July 16th, 1983 in Monahans, Texas. He was a Devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. He Loved his Family, Deeply.


He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, performed in 2 plays when The Ritz Theater first opened, was a School Board member from April 1987-May 1990, Co-Owner of TJ'S Pool Hall from 1996-1997, retired from Mobil and Kinder-Morgan, life member of the VFW, Post Commander in Chief of VFW 2004-2007, Selective Services, 2010, Honorable Discharged from The Army National Guard in 1975, Navy Vietnam Veteran from 1962-1968, A Big Texas Ranger Fan, Dallas Cowboy fan and he fought Parkinson's and Lewy Bodies and Dementia for the past 10 years of his life.


He is survived by

Wife, Cris Benitez of Snyder, TX;

2 Daughters, Teresa Salinas of Snyder, TX and Belinda Lara and husband Luis of Snyder, TX;

2 Sons, Michael Benitez of Lubbock, TX and Hud Benitez and wife Ashley of Ira, TX;

16 Grandkids, 20 Great-Grandkids and 2 Great-Great- Grandkids;

3 Sisters, Rosa Luna of Snyder, TX, Brenda Wallace-Call and husband Don of Lubbock, TX and Linda Butchee and husband Jim of Wylie, TX; 2 Brothers, Manny Gutierrez and wife Jane of McAllen, TX and Kenneth Benitez and wife Freda of Rotan, TX.


He was preceded in death by Parents, N.Y. "Bennie" and Leona Benitez; Mother, Virginia Cadena Benitez; Step-Mother, Novella Johnson Benitez; Son, Juan Ygnacio Benitez; Brother, Eddie Wayne Benitez; Paternal Grandparents, Erineo and Francisca Benitez and Maternal Grandparents, Ramon and Eucracia Cadena; and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
