We are heartbroken to share that (Monty) Weldon Montague Cheatham passed away on March 23, 2025.
Visitation is planned for March 29, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home. Graveside services are set for March 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Canon Ranch Cemetery, with Lee Iglesias officiating.
(Monty) Weldon Montague Cheatham was born to Terry Joe Chance and Albert William Cheatham on February 12, 1978 in Big Spring, Texas. He married the love of his life on January 8, 2000 in Ashland, Oregon. He was a man with a heart of gold, he loved taking care of others. He always put himself before others. Monty loved to be outdoors as much as he could be. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bow hunting was one of his favorites. He also enjoyed roping and ranching. One of his favorite things to do was to play with his grandson. He enjoyed playing coed softball and the game call of duty with his friends. Monty loved to cook as well as he enjoyed teaching others. He enjoyed driving fast.
(Monty) Weldon Montague Cheatham is survived by his wife Jennifer Cheatham from Gail, Texas. 2 daughters Lexi and Brooklynn from Gail, Texas along with his grandson Cypress Canon Hill from Gail, Texas. 2 brothers Will Cheatham from Gail, Texas and his 2 sons Mason and Weldon Cheatham from Gail, Texas. Kenny Peters from Rusk, Texas and his children Triston, Kloie and William Peters from Rusk, Texas. His father Will and wife Candice Cheatham of Snyder, Texas. His mother and stepfather Terry and Charlie Chance from Colorado City, Texas. His brother in law and children Chris Waters from Ther Dalles,Oregon, children Kerish and Mercedes from The Dalles, Oregon. His 3 cousins Brandi and Spencer Pate and their 3 children from Bullard, Texas. Josh and Jennifer Ellis and their 4 children from Henderson, Texas. Chad Ellis and 2 children from Henderson, Texas. Aunt Sherrie, and his grandma Shirley and Andy Roberson from Norman, Oklahoma. His aunt G.G. Canon from Gail, Texas.
He is preceded in Death by his maternal grandparents Joe and Dorothy Canon. his father in law Doug Waters. His uncle Charles C. Canon and his paternal grandpa Weldon Ray Cheatham.
