Wanda Marie York

Wanda Marie (Callen) York, age 92, passed away in Snyder on Sunday, February 26th, 2023.

Family Visitation is planned for Wednesday, March 1st, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 2nd, 2023 at 3:00 pm at East Side Church of Christ, 201 31st St., Snyder, Texas 79549 with Mr. Craig Randolph officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home at Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. York was born on August 15th, 1930 in Jester, Oklahoma to Coy and Ona (Hamilton) Callen. She married Clifford Wayne York on December 11th, 1948 in Wellington, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 31st, 1999.

She spent her life serving the Lord as an active member of East Side Church of Christ. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, in the surrounding counties, for many years before retiring to become the office manager for York Transport owned by Clifford Wayne York and herself. Wanda was also a member of the Sundowners riding club. She enjoyed the rest of her life doing yard work and spending time with her kids, grandkids and greats.

2 Granddaughters, Shelley Billingsley and husband Kraig of Snyder, TX and Kassey Burney of Cypress, TX;

6 Great-Grandsons, Eli Babb of Snyder, TX, Maverick Babb of Coahoma, TX, Braxton Babb of Coahoma, TX, Weldon Kinney of Snyder, TX, Dylan Billingsley of Hermleigh, TX and Boston Billingsley of Snyder, TX;

4 Great-Granddaughters, Emma Billingsley of Snyder, TX, Elizabeth Babb of Snyder, TX, Paizlee Gass of Lamesa, TX and Dusty Grace Parr of Cypress, TX;

Daughter-in-law, Keta York of Snyder, TX.

She was preceded in death by Husband, Wayne York; Son, Steve York; Mother, Ona (Hamilton) Callen; Father, Coy Callen; 2 Brothers, Lamoin Callen and Tharville, Callen; and 2 Sisters, Wilma Stewart and Norma Beasley and Son-in-law, Dusty Burney.
