Mrs. Vallie Ann Newsome, age 85, of Snyder, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, from natural causes, surrounded by the love of her family. Vallie was born on January 1, 1940, in Hughsprings, Texas, to Andy Edwards and Ann Turner.
Funeral services for Mrs. Vallie Ann Newsome will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Ron Davis will officiate the service, which promises to be a heartfelt celebration of Vallie's remarkable life. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Snyder, Texas.
Valllie lived a life of compassion and dedication, serving others through her work in health care. Her journey began as a teacher's aide at Central Elementary, where she cherished her time with third graders. In 1980, she transitioned to Cogdell Memorial Hospital as a certified nurse's aide, where she formed lasting bonds with patients and staff alike. Vallie later devoted over a decade to providing private care for Stacy James Browning, a role that became central to her life. Her passion for caring for others was evident in every facet of her life-whether as a nurturing mother, a dedicated caregiver, or a doting grandmother.
Her home was Snyder, a place she embraced wholeheartedly after moving there in April 1976. Vallie's spirit was characterized by a commitment to service, kindness, and a warm sense of joy, and she was always found tending to her home, gardening, or enjoying puzzle books and decorating shows.
Vallie is survived by her son, Christopher, and her daughter, La Veeda, both of Snyder, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Sabrina, Zakkery, and Zaily, who all reside in Snyder. She is also survived by a host of cherished nieces and nephews. Vallie was preceded in death by her father, Andy Edwards, in 1989, her mother, Ann Turner, in 2001, and her "third child," Stacy Ray Browning, in 2021.
