Thomas Richard Allen

Thomas Richard “Ric” Allen was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 11, 2025. He was born on August 15, 1949, in Justin, Texas, to Tommy and Sue Allen.

On August 17, 1969, Ric married the love of his life, Marcia June Davis, in Eunice, New Mexico, while attending New Mexico Junior College. Shortly after, he served his country in the United States Army as a Crew Chief on a Huey helicopter. Following his service, Ric worked at Lubbock Scrap Company before beginning his ministry in Capitan, New Mexico.

Dedicated to preaching and teaching, Ric later attended the Sunset School of Preaching and went on to serve as pulpit minister at Pioneer Park Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas, and at 2nd & Dorthea Street Church of Christ in Crane, Texas. He also worked in the oilfield, first with Marathon Oil in Iraan, Texas, and later with Kinder-Morgan CO₂, retiring in 2016 after 33 years of service.

A lifelong learner, Ric earned licenses as a private pilot, motorcyclist, concealed handgun carrier, and amateur radio operator. He was a devoted Bible student, teacher, and song leader. Among his greatest joys, second only to his family, was serving faithfully as an Elder at the Eastside Church of Christ in Snyder, Texas.

Ric is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marcia Allen; his children, Chad Justus Allen (Angela) of Abilene, Matthew Keane Allen (Aimee) of Abilene, and Kendra Nicole Alexander (Eric) of Odessa; and two cherished granddaughters, Natalea Grace Alexander and Dakota Sage Allen. He is also survived by five cousins, three brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Sue Allen; his sister, Vicki Sue Burns; his infant daughter, Amy Allen; and other beloved family members.

A memorial service celebrating Ric’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Eastside Church of Christ in Snyder, Texas.
