Roy Bolen Jr., 54 of Snyder, passed away on Sunday, May 25th 2025.
Services will be Friday, May 30, 2025 at White Wings Event Center at 10 am with Preacher Chris Donaho. Visitation will be Thursday, May 29th at Miller Family Funeral Home from 6-7pm.
Roy Bolen was born on February 8, 1971, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Roy Bolen Sr. and Elva Selman. He married the love of his life, Rachelle, in July 1990, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and hard work. Roy proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1990 to 1994. After his service, he worked as a mechanic and became known far and wide as the “best golf course equipment mechanic in Texas.”
Roy had a gift for fixing things and a passion for building—whether through woodworking or knife making. His skills were legendary, and those who knew him would often say, “If he can’t fix it, then you might as well throw it in the trash.” Roy had a deep love for rodeo and community events. He volunteered each year at the WTC College Rodeo and the Long Ear Benefit Trail Ride. A true cowboy at heart, he especially cherished his animals —none more so than his beloved dog Boomer and his precious horse Sonny. He was a man of many talents and roles, not least of which was his 9 years of dedicated service as a firefighter with the Snyder Volunteer Fire Department. Roy served his community with honor, bravery, and an unwavering commitment to others.
He was also a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family and grandsons, always putting others before himself. Above all, Roy was a servant of God. He found his spiritual home at the Heaven Bound Cowboy Church in Snyder, where he served as a lay pastor and worshipped faithfully. Roy's life was a testament to hard work, humility, faith, and love. He wore many hats—often literally, with his cowboy hat and sunglasses perched on top—but in every role, he lived with integrity and purpose.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Rachelle Chandler Bolen of Snyder, and Daughter, MiKia Taylor (Delvin) of Lubbock. 3 Grandchildren, Logan, Tanner, and Kannen. Mom, Elva Selman of Roswell, NM. 4 Sisters, Shallain White (Daniel), Rebecca Odell (Scott), Wicey Dowell of Roswell, NM, & Kesha Lavery of Edgewood, NM. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Bolen Sr., his grandparents, his dog Boomer, and his horse Sonny.
