Rachel Maureen (Grant) Bass, 53

Rachel Maureen (Grant) Bass, a beloved mother, daughter, and sister passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2025, in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of 53.

Rachel, the youngest child of Gary and LaVerne Grant, was born on October 6, 1972. She spent her childhood in Amarillo before the family moved to Austin, where she graduated from St. Michael's Academy and earned an Associate of Applied Arts degree in Graphic Design from Austin Community College. She married Jaime Bass in May 2001, and they welcomed their son, Jackson Hunter, in 2008.

While living in Austin, Rachel was actively involved with the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), participating in several "Take Steps" walks to raise money and awareness for the foundation. After moving to Mansfield, she pursued her passion for helping others by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and working as a dedicated nurse for several years.

Rachel was deeply passionate about music and art, particularly pottery. She took great pride in her son Jack's artistic and musical abilities. A true animal lover, she had many cherished pets over the years, including "Bowie" the rat, but was especially fond of her "cat babies," Mabie, Murray, and Gru.

Rachel is survived by her devoted son, Jackson Bass, and her mother, LaVerne Grant. She also leaves behind her siblings: James Grant, David Grant, Angela Potter, John Grant, Mary Davis, and Annamaria Fonville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Grant, and her husband, Jaime Bass.
