Melba Gasaway

Melba Jo (Dawson) Gasaway, age 99, passed away in Snyder on Saturday, October 26th, 2019. No Formal Visitation planned. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 30th, 2019 at 2:30 pm at Colonial Hill Baptist Church 3506 El Paso Ave Snyder, Texas 79549 with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial will be on Thursday, October 31st, 2019 at 1:00 pm under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home at Memory Gardens of Pampa, Pampa, Texas. Mrs. Gasaway was born on September 22nd, 1920 in Joplin, Missouri to Joe Sherman and Essie Blanche (Hughes) Dawson. She married Homer Gasaway in 1944 in Pampa, TX. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1975. She lived in Pampa for 50 years and moved to Snyder in 1991, to be near her son. She was employed in the Gray County Extension Office for 22 years, before going to the Texas State Capitol for the remaining years, before her retirement. She was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church and loved to sew. She is survived by Son, Harold Wayne Gasaway of Snyder, TX; Granddaughter, Cherie Keller and husband Chris of Pampa, TX; Great-Granddaughter, Kaia Gasaway of Pampa, TX; Great-Grandson, Deitrich Keller of Pampa, TX. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Joe Sherman and Essie Blanche (Hughes) Dawson; Husband, Homer Gasaway and Daughter, Tanya Gasaway.
