Marshall Lyn Spence was born on November 29, 1948 in Snyder, Texas to Leonard W. Spence and Ona Mae Spence. A long time resident of Snyder, Marshall passed away January 23, 2024 in Texarkana, Texas where he had been a resident for 7 years.


Family Visitation is planned for Friday, January 26th, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 10:00 am at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel 200 E. 37th Street Snyder, Texas 79549 with Pastor Mark Kimmel officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home at Hillside Memorial Gardens.


At the age of 3 he became a victim to polio, which left him unable to participate in sports. That didn't stop him from being a life long sports fan.


He loved his Snyder Tigers and Texas Tech Red Raiders. He was present to see Snyder High School baseball teams win a couple of their state championships. His favorite pro teams were the New York Yankees, the Green Bay Packers and the Boston Celtics. He especially enjoyed baseball season with the Yankees.


He was Blessed to have extra special care from his loving sister, Peggy Smith and husband Bobby for the last 21 years of his life.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard W. and Ona Mae Spence.


He is survived by

Brother, Jim Spence and wife Janet of Snyder, TX;

2 Sisters, Peggy Smith and husband Bobby of Texarkana, TX and Margaret McClone and husband George of Alton, MO;

5 Nephews, Mark Kimmel and wife Valinda, Stephen Kimmel and wife Sherette, Wesley Smith and wife Leigh Ann, Allan Smith and wife Jennifer and Brian Spence and wife Katie;

3 Nieces, Janice Kimmel Warren, Anne Kimmel Scamardo and Jennifer Spence Hughes and husband Brian;

He is also survived by many Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, as well as several Great-Great-Nieces and Great-Great-Nephews and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers, Allan Smith, Alex Smith, Brian Hughes, Brian Spence, Ethan Spence, Matthew Smith, Stephen Kimmel and Wesley Smith.


The family would like to give a special Thank You to Katie Spence, Vocalist and Triesta Lilly, Pianist for their part of the service.

The family wanted to let everyone know, that the Funeral Service will be LIVE STREAMED on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 10:00 am.
