She only had a 6th grade education, working in the cotton fields as a young child. She was an excellent barter using her talents of cooking and ironing as if having 10 children was not enough- she would also babysit. She knew how to stretch a dollar. She was an excellent cook especially during the holidays, Oh how we remember them. There was always a hot tortilla within arms reach. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Embroidery, Word Searches and enjoying eating Popsicles with Great-Grandkids. After Dad's passing in 1981, she went to work in the cafeteria for Scurry County Senior Citizen Center, until her retirement. the Kitchen Band and Dancing, were her enjoyment. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sang in the Choir and was also a member of the Guadalupanas for over 25 years.
