The services are set for Monday February 9, 2026 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Snyder, Texas, with Father Jeremy Trull officiating services. The Interment will follow at Snyder Cemetery.

Leon Gutierrez was a man known for his big heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family, faith, and community. He met the love of his life, Lupe, in 1960, and the two were married in October of 1963 in Snyder, Texas. Their love story was one of devotion, partnership, and faith that lasted a lifetime.

Leon was a longtime and faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he served in many ways. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, the Eucharistic Ministry, and the Cursillistas. His faith wasn't just something he practiced-it was something he lived every day through kindness, service, and generosity.

He was a hardworking man who didn't know how to say no to helping others. Leon was always ready to lend a hand, offer support, or show up when someone needed him. He was well known and deeply respected in his community because of his caring spirit and willingness to serve.

Leon loved the simple joys of life-fishing, cooking and grilling, working in his yard, dancing, and doing word searches. These everyday moments brought him happiness, and he shared that joy freely with the people around him.

Leon is survived by his loving wife, Lupe Gutierrez; his children Alicia Gutierrez, Vicky Luera and her husband Paul Luera, and Leon Jr. Gutierrez and his wife Maurisa Gutierrez; and his 2 sisters and one brother along with 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who were the pride of his life.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Jessica Gutierrez; his parents, Antonio and Gregoria Gutierrez; three sisters; two brothers; and one great-grandson also his inlaws Juan and Trinidad Lopez.

Leon Gutierrez leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, service, and kindness. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a faithful servant of God, and a man who made a difference simply by being who he was.

His life was a blessing. His memory will live on in every heart he touched.
