Leon Ford

Leon Ford, age 88, passed away on Friday, August 16th, 2024 with daughter Terri and son-in-law Bryan by his side..

A Memorial service will be on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at 10:00 am at 37th St. Church of Christ with Mr. Joey Cummings officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Miller Family Funeral Home.

Leon was born on June 19th, 1936 in Muleshoe, Texas to Kermit and Thelma (Lane) Ford. He graduated from Ira, TX in 1955. He married Sue Wishert on February 26th, 1956 in Ira, Texas. They had three Children, Suzan, Terri and Shane, four Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.

Leon worked in the oil field until he retired at 79 years old. He moved back Snyder in 2019 from Midland, Texas and was a member of the 37th Street Church of Christ, a Gold Coat Member at the Snyder Chamber of Commerce and a very active member of the Scurry County Senior Center, where he made lots of new friends. Leon's hobbies were fishing, shelling pecans, reading, making candy and cobbler, telling stories and making people laugh. Helping and serving people brought him great joy!

2 Granddaughters, Amanda French of Snyder, TX and Acee French of Snyder, TX;

2 Grandsons, Jason French and wife Erin of Snyder, TX and Brantley Pearce and wife Adrienne of Thompson Station, TN;

Son-in-law, Kenneth Pearce of Granbury, TX;

4 Great-Grandchildren, Ainsley Pearce and Amelia Pearce of Thompson Station, TN, Madix French and Eli French of Snyder, TX;

Brother, Weldon Ford of Abilene, TX;

2 Sisters, Joan Holiday and Kay Hickman and husband Gay of Snyder, TX.

He was preceded in death by Parents, Kermit and Thelma (Lane) Ford; Brother, Jerry Ford; Wife Sue Ford; Daughter, Suzan Pearce; Son, Shane Ford and Great-Granddaughter, Audrey Pearce.
