Eddie Gregory, 88 of Colorado City, TX passed peacefully at home on January 23, 2024 surrounded by family.
Eddie was born to Kenneth and Edna Calloway Gregory on April 21, 1935 in San Perlita TX. He graduated high school in San Perlita in 1953 where he mostly enjoyed playing sports. After graduating, he proudly served in the US Navy and aboard the USS Shangri-La.
Work opportunities took Eddie to Snyder TX. in the 1960's where he met his lifelong love playing in a country western band together, Ann Parrish. They married in 1966 and enjoyed 57 years of making great memories and music. Eddie and Ann's house was always a warm welcoming spot for their own 5 children and friends, their 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Eddie worked and retired from Lone Wolf Electric after 30 years, but he most enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, dancing, attending sporting events, coaching, refereeing, civic and volunteer work. He served on the school board, spent 20 plus years in the Lion's Club serving as President and Vice President for two years, working Kairos ministries, and the Lone Wolf Relays for over 40 years. Eddie followed in his father’s steps and spent 25 years as a song leader. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Edna Gregory, brother Clinton Gregory, sister Marilyn Roberts, and son-in-law David Ornelas. Survivors include wife Ann Gregory, sister Winona Smith, daughters Deloras Ornelas, Denice (Lynn) Bradbury, Diane (Ron) Carlton, Darla (Albert) DeLoera, son Charlie Gregory (Gwen) Singletary. Grandchildren Colby (Lesley) Singletary, Garrett (Katie) Singletary, Holly Singletary, Nichole (Zach) Russell, Brandie Ornelas, Jordan Ornelas, Malarie Harris, Kelby (Olivia) Bradbury, Holly Bradbury (Sam), Logan (Shay) McGlothlin, Bailey Manns, Quincy (Emily) Carlton, Quade Carlton, Devyn DeLoera, Morgan DeLoera (Aaron) and Kyle DeLoera, 16 great grandchildren and friend like a brother, Bob Martin.
Memorial services for Eddie will be held Saturday January 27 at 10 am, at the First Baptist Church of Colorado City, TX under the care of Miller Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Christian Church, P.O. Box 555, Colorado City TX 79512.
