Joyce Cooper

Joyce Laverne (Richardson) Cooper, age 87, of Snyder, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017.

Services for Mrs. Cooper will be Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at

First United Methodist Church, Snyder, TX with Pastor David Blackwell officiating.Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 to 7 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cooper was born March 28, 1928 in Rockwood, TX to Marvin and Grace (Milligan) Richardson. She married R.E. Cooper on October 4, 1946 in Abilene, TX. He passed away in 1970. She got her BA in Science and taught 2nd grade in Snyder before moving to Espanola, NM, where she taught at the McCurdy Christian School for 13 years. She retired in 1987 and moved back to Snyder. She became a deaconess and and active member for the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Cogdell Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies and volunteered at the local food bank. She loved to study her bible and read several devotionals every day of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, R.E. Cooper, and siblings, Roy Richardson, Elizabeth Dudley, Edith West, Eugene Richardson, Cecil Richardson, J.P. Richardson.
