Joe Mireles, age 54, of Snyder, TX, passed away on September 20, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 3, 1971, in Colorado City, TX, to Leonardo Mireles and Aurora (Mireles) Valdez. He married Sandra Sosa on February 7, 1995.
Joe will be remembered for the countless lives he touched through his teaching and coaching. His passion for coaching went far beyond the game. It was about building character, teaching life lessons, and leading by example. He led with integrity and a servant's heart. More than a coach, Joe was a mentor, a role model, and a friend to so many. His legacy will live on in the students he taught, the athletes he coached, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Joe is survived by his wife, Sandra Mireles of Snyder, TX; his son, Joe (Megan) Mireles of Snyder, TX; his mother, Aurora (Pete) Valdez of Midland, TX; sisters, Angie (Laramie) Collier of Trent, TX, and Loretta Mireles of Midland, TX; and brother, Leon (Hope) Mireles of Colorado City, TX. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Leonardo Mireles of Hermleigh, TX.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Miller Family Funeral Home in Snyder, TX. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 25, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Reid Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery.
