Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Jimmy immediately after the service for a light lunch and desserts in the fellowship hall of the church. This will be a time to share the memories and love we had of Jimmy's life.
Jimmy was born on January 7,1935, in Gorman, Texas, to Albert Wilson and Floy Mathews. He was raised with the love and guidance of his stepfather, Lewis Mathews. Jimmy was a hardworking and resourceful man who spent almost 50 years employed at Continental EMSCO. With a little ingenuity, determination, endless patience, and his own unique way of doing things, there is nothing he couldn't do. His remarkable kindness, gentle spirit, and willingness to share his time and talents with others will never be forgotten.
Jimmy had a lifelong passion for drag racing, classic cars, and old country music. Although his racing days had passed, he never lost the heart of a drag racer or his appreciation for a good old car. In his later years, Jimmy remained sharp as a tack, and he also enjoyed a good game of Rummikub whenever the opportunity arose. He loved life and lived it fully, finding joy in the simple things and the company of those he loved.
Above all, Jimmy was a devoted family man who loved deeply and gave generously of himself. He shared 40 wonderful years with the love of his life, Pam, building a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. His love for his family was unwavering, and he took great pride in the life they shared. He was also married to his first love, Mary Turner Wilson, for 32 years, and they were blessed with their precious daughter, Debra.
A member of Ave. D Baptist Church in Snyder, Texas Jimmy held a strong faith in the Lord. Though his family will deeply miss his familiar face, gentle presence, and steadfast love, they find comfort unknowing that he is now rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Wilson and Floy Mathews, his stepfather, Lewis Mathews, and his sister Nora Wilson.
He is survived by his beloved wife Pamela Wilson, his daughter Debra Dennis and husband Bubba Dennis, his grandchildren, Ryan Dennis, Lauren Wilde and her husband Garrett, grand daughter by heart, Madison Dennis, his brother Jasper Wilson and wife Ann, many nieces and nephews, along with extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
