Mr. Nelson was born on November 9th, 1939 in Electra, Texas to James "Blackie" and Frances (Blankenship) Nelson. He married Jessie Browning on January 2nd, 1981 in Snyder, Texas. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a hard working man who loved his Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, outdoors activities, horticulture, reading and fishing.


He is survived by Wife, Jessie "Bunny" Nelson of Colorado City, Texas;

3 Sons, Greg Jones of Huntsville, TX, Tommy Jones and wife Charm of Seoul, South Korea and Roland Nelson and wife Sarah of Colorado City, TX;

5 Daughters, Lori Dove of San Angelo, TX, Caree Reel of Colorado City, TX, Noree Lohse and husband Boy of San Angelo, TX, Crystal Nelson of Colorado City, TX and Jessica Nelson of Snyder, TX;

numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren;

2 Sisters, Jamie Collins and husband Jack of Lubbock, TX and Carolyn Dennis of Snyder, TX;

2 Sisters-in-law, Gayle Browning and Rebecca Pruet;

Great Friend, Frank Hammans of Colorado City, TX;

numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews.


He was preceded in death by Parents, James "Blackie" and Frances (Blankenship) Nelson;

Daughter-in-law, Barbara Jones; 2 Grandsons, Coree Cowley and C.H. Jones;

Niece, Derae Collins and Nephew, Mike Dennis.
