Helen Bell, 89, of Colorado City, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2026, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family.
Funeral services for Helen Bell will be held graveside on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mitchell County Cemetery with Kyle Bell officiating. Family visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Helen was born on July 15, 1936, in Mitchell County, Texas, to Herman and Fleeta (Woodard) Davis. She married the love of her life on October 23, 1953, in Colorado City, Texas. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and hospitality.
Helen was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She had a servant's heart and loved opening her home to others "to the extreme." Whether it was a holiday meal, family gathering, or simply a visit around the kitchen table, everyone was welcomed with love, laughter, and plenty to eat. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and cherished memories. A woman of unwavering faith, Helen loved the Lord with all her heart and faithfully prayed over each member of her family by name every single night. Her prayers, love, and devotion were the foundation of her family for generations.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Belinda Claxton; son, Jimmy Bell (Marla); daughter-in-law, Kim Bell; grandchildren: Jason (Rona), Chris, Cody (Aston), Dusty (Amberly), Josh (Hailey), Casey, Kirk, and Kyle (Katrina); great-grandchildren including Rylance, Tanzy, Tabitha, Jared, Gasi, Fellicity, Cadence, Landen, Corbin, Brantlee, Myha, Jael, Malachi, and Danielle; as well as many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Bell; her parents, Herman and Fleeta (Woodard) Davis; her siblings, Vanetta Ruth, Paull Davis, and Ray Davis; her daughter, Beckie Weatherly; her son, Jay Bell; and grandsons, Casey & Curt Claxton.
Those who knew Helen will remember her fierce love for her family, her faithful prayers, her generous spirit, and the way she made everyone feel at home. Her legacy of faith and family will continue for generations to come.
