George E. Constable left this earthly home and was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 27th, 2023.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, July 6th, 2023 at 10:00 am at Elmwood Memorial Park 5750 US-277 Abilene, Texas 79606 with Pastor Rodney Watson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
He was born on November 19, 1943, in Santa Anna, Texas, to Arthur D. Constable and Fannie M. Constable. He married the love of his life, Brenda J. Doby on March 21, 1964. He served in the United States Air Force from September 1, 1961, to August 31, 1965. He worked in the oil field in Odessa, Texas, General Dynamics in Fort Worth, and moved to Abilene, Texas, where he became a barber at Cutting Edge Barber and Style Shop for over 40 years. He loved his family, his work, and his customers. He was a good Christian man who loved the Lord, and that showed in his barbershop and home life and to all who knew him and met him. He had been a member of Trinity Baptist Church and then Heritage Baptist Church until health problems prevented him from attending.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Logan, brothers, John Constable, Dean Constable, Leon Constable, and granddaughter Laura Wilkerson.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda J. Constable, daughters Angie Constable Wilkerson (Gaylon), Paula Constable Shepard (Steve), grandchildren Kayla Vaughan (Toby), Ethan Wilkerson, Becca McCann (Brad), Bethanie Martin (Ethan), Brandon Warren, Brianna Miller (Justin), Brett Warren (Abby), 14 great-grandchildren, and sister Louise Brown.
