Gene Marie Achterberg, age 87, passed away on Sunday, May 5th, 2024.

Mrs. Achterberg was born on December 31st, 1936 in Lake Arthur, New Mexico to Garland Chancey and Mabel (Tice) Duncan. She married William Arthur Achterberg on February 5, 1955, in Roswell, New Mexico. He preceded in death, in 2010. She was a member of the 7-10 Club, Lions Club, and enjoyed playing golf, gardening and swimming.

She is survived by

Son, Robert Achterberg of Ira, TX;

3 Daughters, Angela Gonzalez and husband Manuel of Snyder, TX, Paula Franco of Roswell, NM and Linda Achterberg of Claremont, CA;

12 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren;

Sister, Oleta Eaker of Roswell, NM and

Brother-In-Law, Robert Livingston of Albuquerque, NM

She was preceded in death by Parents, Garland Chaney and Mabel (Tice) Duncan; Husband, William Arthur Achterberg; Son, James Achterberg; 3 Brothers, Leslie, Tommy and Robert Duncan; 3 Sisters, Elizabeth Montgomery, Doris Earle and Charlotte Livingston.
