Dorothy Idella Lankford

Dorothy Lankford passed away on June 7th,2025 in Snyder, Texas. Dorothy was born on May 25th,1929 in Ira, Scurry County to Samuel and Jewel Adams. With loving hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved mother.

Funeral services will be held at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday June 11th,2025 at 2:00 PM, with Brother Larry McAden officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Snyder, Texas.

Dorothy was born and raised in Ira area, she lived most of her life in Snyder, Texas. She raised four children, she worked at Montgomery Ward, then Gibson discount center. She spent the last part of her life volunteering at the Senior Citizens center. She was a devout Christian; she was a loving and caring member of our community and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by, her sister Nell Baker, daughters June Raines, Norma Grimmett and son Jerry Lankford. Grandchildren Peyton Claxton, Brandon Claxton, Todd Owens, Chassey Raines, Hailey Grimmett, Kristi Collom, and Jeremy Lankford.

She is preceeded in death by, her husband Ceil Lankford, one sister Jessie Bryant, one daughter Judy Pylant, and one grandson Jondon Grimmett.
