Doris Byus

Doris June Murphree Byus, age 87, passed away in Snyder on Friday, January 1st, 2021. Graveside services will be on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Vera Cemetery, Vera, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Byus was born June 26th, 1933 in New Boston, TX to Jim and Gladys Faye (Morgan) Davis. At the age of 8 years old, she went to live with her Foster Parents, Howard and Era Mae Thorton in Turkey, TX. She married Clyde Albert Murphree on April 8th, 1949 in Turkey, TX. They moved to Snyder, Texas in 1952 and raised their 4 kids. She later married James (Jim) Byus. He preceded her in death on December 1997. Doris June was one of the most kindest, sweetest person that never met a stranger and loved everyone and everyone loved her. She had a huge heart and loved to hug everyone. She is survived by Son, Howard Lee Murphree of Big Spring, TX; 2 Daughters, Ina Mae Friday and husband Ken of Del Rio, TX and Lila Kail Cantrell and husband Billy of Snyder, TX; Grandkids, Brian Murphree of Quitman, TX, Brandy Ellsworth of WI, Brad Murphree of TX, Lonnie Friday of Del Rio, TX, Mitzi Dildy of Waco, TX, Clinton Lewis of Sweetwater, TX, Cody Lewis of Lubbock, TX, Lance Turner of San Angelo, TX and Andrea Friday of Del Rio, T; Sister, Margaret Hamilton and husband Charles of Muleshoe, TX; 2 Brothers, Jimmy Davis and Terry Davis; and numerous Great-Grandkids and Great-Great-Grandkids. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Foster Parents, Father of her children, Clyde Albert Murphree; Husband, Jim Byus; 4 Sisters, Louise, Patsy, Bobbie and Peggy; and Son, Terry Albert Murphree.
