Dempsey Mayes

Dempsey Mayes, age 90 of Snyder, passed away June 8, 2018.

A graveside service for Mr. Mayes will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Tx located on West Lake Road (FM 600) with full Military Honors. A visitation for Mr. Mayes will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6 to 7 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Mayes was born July 22, 1927 in Pleasanton, TX to John and Ethye Mayes. Mr. Mayes served in the United States Marines during the Korean War from 1951-1955. He was also a deacon in the Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Tommy Mayes, twin brother Sharky, brothers John, Jack, Bill and Howard. Also two sisters, Ruby Wright and Louise Matthews

The family would like to thank Hospice Home Health for their loving care and also special friends Doris Watts and Renae Ferguson of Abilene that traveled to assist Pansy in taking care of Dempsey.
