Celestino Hernandez, 89, of Snyder, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025. He was born on May 17, 1936, in Marion, Texas, to Anselmo Hernandez and Paz Reyes.
Celestino worked for many years as a machinist for YZ Industries and was known for his strong work ethic and kind heart. He enjoyed fishing, playing baseball for the Red Legs, and watching his John Wayne and western movies. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.
He is survived by his daughters Nancy and husband Anthony Wells of Snyder, and Nita and husband Rudy Barrientos of Grand Prairie; grandchildren: Alicyn Hernandez & Jeffery Stewart, Lauren Barrientos, Kylee Wells, Steven Barrientos, Christian Castillo, Joshua Barrientos, and Brock Castillo; and one great-granddaughter, Nora Stewart. He also leaves behind two sisters, Elena and husband Joe Lopez, and Evangelen Puente, both of Dallas, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anselmo Hernandez and Paz Reyes; his beloved wife, Gloria Hernandez; his daughter, Nora Castillo; his son, Randy Hernandez; three sisters, Martina Mendez, Ninfa Rosas, and Victoria Garcia; and three brothers, Ruben, Anselmo, and David Hernandez
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Miller Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Saturday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Snyder Cemetery.
Celestino’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
