Cathy Mae Moreno (Baughman)

Catherine Mae Moreno (Baughman), 51 passed away suddenly on August 20, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on October 17, 1973, to Gary and Frances Baughman. Cathy dedicated herself to being a loving daughter, sister, wife and above all else a mother. She always put others needs before her own.

Cathy is survived by her parents Gary and Frances Baughman (Como) of Snyder Texas; her brother, Gary “Pete” (Michelle)Baughman of Odessa Texas. A sister Stacey Locklear and brother-in-law Calvin Hunter and a special great niece Kezia Hunter of Snyder Texas. Her husband Robert Moreno and daughter Nevaeh Moreno of Stanton Texas. Her daughter Brittany Lynn Cummings and special friend Benjamin of Midland Texas. Cathy was a loving grandmother to Phillip Miguel Gomez Jr.,16; Bria Lynn Gomez,12; Aurora Anne Gomez, 6; and Felix Izel Gomez, 5.

Cathy was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Harry “Buck” and Alice Baughman, Maternal grandparents Frank and Myrtle Como. Beloved daughter Kandyce Maurine Hughes, sister Barbara Glover (Baughman) and her only son Austen Ryan Cummings.

Cathy will best be remembered for her generosity of caring for others. She especially loved caring for the elderly and those who had no one else except herself to care for them. She had a way of making you feel like you were her only priority. She lived in her own time zone and to her time didn’t matter.

One of Cathy’s favorite things to do was to dress up in her grinch costume and make everyone laugh and feel loved. Her great niece Kezia will NEVER forget about that Grinch costume. Cathy loved going thrifting “picking’’ with her daughter Nevaeh, and oh how she loved her some Willie Nelson!! She never missed a moment to hear him play in Luckenbach, Texas.

Cathy will be sadly missed by many friends and family. A private memorial with family will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in honor of her to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) or the Epilepsy Foundation of America.

Though she is gone, her spirit will live on in each of our hearts. We will cherish the memories we have of her and keep her alive in our stories and in our love for her.
