Carol Sue Sanders Burnett, 84, passed away on March 13, 2026, in Sweetwater, Texas. She was born on January 18, 1942, in Eastland, Texas.
The family will have a visitation on Thursday, March 19, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Miller Family Funeral Home, 200 East 37th Street, in Snyder. The service will be on March 20, 10:00 am at Miller Family Funeral Home, with Grandson-N-Law Clint Park officiating the service. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM in Big Spring at Trinity Memorial Park.
She married Melvin Wayne Burnett on June 7, 1958, in Vincent, Texas. She was the daughter of Billie and Marvin Dupuy and Luther and Alice Sanders. She managed Payless Shoe Store in both Sweetwater and Plainview. She owned Susie's Candles in Snyder. She also enjoyed reading and doing crafts.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlyn Gage & husband Eithel Gage. Her sons Clifford Burnett & husband Andy Montgomery; Tony Burnett & wife Cindy Burnett. Two sisters, Cathy Lehman and Beth Bryd. She is also survived by 12 Grandbabies, 40 great-grandbabies, and 3 great-great-grandbabies. Along with several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Mother and stepdad, Her Dad and stepmom, her Husband, one Daughter Winnona Carol Evens, two grandsons Claude Speed Jr. and Jeremy Everett, 4 sisters, and 6 brothers and a great grandson DeMarcus Gage.
Pallbearers will be Eddy Gossett, David Crow, Tommy Gage, Ted Christian, Tommy Christian & Billy Christian. Honorary pallbearer Chris McAbee.
