Barbara Weddle

April 22, 1950 — July 5, 2025

Barbara Dean Weddle age 75 left this Earth on July 5th,2025 in Snyder, Texas, she was born on April 22nd,1950 in Oakland California to Melcina and Elmer Timora.

Barbara was the heart of our family. The keeper of stories, the voice of reason. Her hands held generations of rocking babies, braiding hair and stirring pots. Her arms were always open, whether you were five or fifty-five.

As a mother, she was fierce and tender. She taught us how to stand tall, speak the truth and how to love without condition. She didn’t just raise us as children; she raised us to be adults who knew right from wrong and who knew how to work hard and always remembered that kindness is never a weakness.

As a grandmother, she was magic. She had very special way of making each grandchild feel like the center of her world. Her stories could stretch across time, her hugs could heal anything.

As a great grandma, she became something even more rare: she saw the seeds, she planted bloom into families of their own. Barbara was a devoted wife of 34 years to David Weddle. She was the foundation of everything she touched.

She was a nurturing mother, a cherished grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother. But more than any title, she was the heart of our family. The steady, unwavering center around which we all revolved.

Barbara was a care giver for more than 30 years. She was not someone that was seeking the spotlight, but instead found meaning in the shadows, where pain needed soothing, where loneliness needed company, where dignity needed defending. Barbara was a caregiver. But more than that she was a sanctuary. Whether it was a handheld through the long hours of the night, a meal prepared with love, or a gentle voice reminding them that they were not forgotten. She gave of herself in ways that can’t be measured in awards. Her legacy was not written in headlines, but in the hearts of who she comforted. To care for another person is to say, “Your life matters”. We often speak of heroes in grand terms, but I believe that the truest kind of heroism is quiet. It’s found in the small, repeated acts of love. Barbara was that kind of hero.

She is survived by her husband David Weddle of Snyder. A daughter Suzy Ann Stover of Austin, a sister Linda Trujillo, and husband Leon. Two brothers John Timora and Donnie Timora and his wife Carmen. Three grandchildren Brandon Scott and wife Jessica, Jacee Robledo, Nevaehly Stover. Six great-grandchildren Kaydence, Sierra and Kailum Robledo, Kayven Wlinegeart, Kynzee and David Scott. Along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members that will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melcina and Elmer Timora, Her son Melvin Hightower and his wife Debbie, and her daughter Shawna Ford. Two sisters Barbara Jean Stacey and Mary Ann Vest of Snyder.
