Obituary for William Daniel "Dub" Buchanan

William Daniel “Dub” Buchanan passed from this earth on April 26th, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel with Paster John Pena officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home. Visitation with the family, will follow in Miller Family Funeral Home reception room.

He was born on November 13, 1941 to Carl and Eula May (Rogers) Buchanan in Como, TX. He was the tenth of thirteen children.

Dub served in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, he returned to Snyder and became a partner and eventually sole owner of D & D Automotive, which operated in Snyder until 2014.

Everyone who knew Dub agreed there was no one quite like him. Whether he was riding a motorcycle, driving a Vette or flying his airplane, he was making friends and living life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression everywhere he went whether it was riding a motorcycle through the halls of Hermleigh High School or flying friends to his home away from home in Ruidoso, New Mexico. He was always ready and willing to go on any adventure and had the crazy stories to prove it. No one enjoyed life more.

Dub was especially well-known in the Harley Davidson community for his love of motorcycles and riding, helping friends and strangers alike anytime they needed assistance with their motorcycles, advice on beautiful rides or even the joke of the day.

He is survived by his daughter, son-in-law and grandson Jenifer and Wade West and Brady of Flower Mound and his best friend Jan Buchanan of Snyder, TX. He is also survived by one brother Valton, two sisters Louise Tatom and Ruby Johnson and one sister-in-law Juanita Buchanan, all of Snyder. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many, many loving friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: J. C., Cleatis, Weldon, Wayne, Tommy and J. B. and three sisters: Geneva Shear, Evelyn Wiggins and Joyce Buchanan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Snyder Bike Rally, P.O. Box 1252 Snyder TX 79550 or to the Snyder Wheels Car Club, P.O. Box 795, Snyder TX 79550.
