Obituary for Pedro Gonzalez

Our beloved father Mr. Pedro González, age 76, of Snyder, Texas went home to join the Lord on Monday January 11, 2021, surrounded by the presence of his loving family.

Pedro was born on February 23, 1944 in Ixtlahuacan Colima, Mexico to Casiano Vera González
and Anastasia Flores Estrada. As a young man in Mexico, Pedro was a mechanic for Chevrolet. Moving into his adulthood he met the love of his life and married Miss Maria Guerrero on April 29, 1972 in Colima, Colima. Shortly after Pedro and Maria moved to Snyder, Texas to start a new life, working various positions in oilfield mainly on a workover rig for 30+ years since the age of 28. Pedro leaves a legacy of hard work and grit. He also leaves an incredible legacy of faith in God and a life-long love and commitment to his precious bride of 48 years, Maria.

Pedro was a lifelong active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Faithful servant of God, husband, father, grandfather, and loving friend to all. A devout Roman Catholic, he was a 4th degree Knight serving the Knights of Columbus for many years where he provided leadership in social concerns and performed numerous works of charity. Pedro was a Cursillista who loved to give, “Rollos”, talks that help people get closer to God and their faith. At Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and a lector. During his ministry he reached out and touched the hearts of many people within the Diocese of Lubbock, TX.

Pedro is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Casiano Vera González, and Anastasia Flores Estrada. His brother Luciano González. The love of his life Maria González.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son Pedro González Jr., daughter-in-law Jessica and granddaughter Naudia of Snyder, TX, his son David González, daughter-in-law Karyn, grandson Tristan and granddaughter Isabella of Arlington, TX , his daughter Elizabeth González and granddaughters Trinity and Hailey of Snyder, TX, his son Jesus González, daughter-in-law Kara and granddaughter Emilee of Frisco, TX, his son Jose González and daughter-in-law Bianca of Snyder, TX, his daughter Guadalupe Chavez, son-in-law Beto and grandsons Christian, Carlos, and Cezar of Snyder, TX, his daughter Angelica Jackson, son-in-law Waylon, grandson Gabriel and granddaughter Airika of Snyder, TX, and his daughter Veronica Smith, son-in-law Justin, granddaughter Sierra and grandson Nathan of Snyder, TX, his sister Gabriela González Estrada of Tecoman, Colima, Rosa González Estrada of Michoacán, Mexico and his brother Ramon Estrada of Michoacán, Mexico. He was the proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren.

Pedro enjoyed supporting his grandchildren’s activities and spending time with his friends. He cherished his wife, his children, daughters-in-law and sons-in-law and grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday January 14, 2021 at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services for Pedro will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Snyder Cemetery with Father Jeremy Trull officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
