Obituary for L. J. McGuire

L. J. McGuire was born on June 20th, 1941 in Colorado City, Texas. He truly loved the Lord and his children prior to his marriage and step-children, as well. He began his journey as a family man, when he married his long time life partner, Francis Kay Emerson on February 4th, 2006, in Colorado City, Texas. He departed this life on October 14th, 2022, at his home in Colorado City, Texas, with his wife at his side. From this union, he leaves behind to mourn; his loving Wife, Mrs. Francis Kay McGuire of Colorado City, TX; Daughter, Betty Louise Williams of Sweetwater, TX; Step-Son, Bobby Lee Emerson of Big Spring, TX; Step-Daughter, Barbara Annette Emerson of Snyder, TX; Sister, Emma Edwards of Denver, CO; 11 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; In-Laws, Martha and Charles Anderson of Snyder, TX, Terilyn and Paul Ridge of Colorado City, TX, Edward and Eddie Mae Garrett of Oklahoma City, OK, Burnell Gibson of Oklahoma City, OK, Thomas Emerson of Colorado City, TX, William Emerson of Oklahoma City, OK, Daniel and Mae Emerson of Waco, TX. Mr. McGuire also leaves behind to mourn, several other loving Sons, Daughters, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, who love and miss him dearly, as well.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, George and Bessie McGuire; In-Laws, Eddie and Oletha Gibson; Sisters, Dorothy Green, Georgia Howard, Doris Pierson and Annie McGuire; Brothers, Freddy McGuire, James McGuire, Bright McGuire, Nollie McGuire and J.D. McGuire; Step-Sons, Jerry Emerson, Anthony Emerson and James Emerson; Great-Grandson, Damien Leverett and Several Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends and Acquaintances.

Family Visitation is planned for Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Miller Family Chapel, 423 E. 17th St., Colorado City, Texas 79512. Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 301 Chestnut St. Colorado City, Texas 79512 with Reverend Jesse Hooper officiating and assisted by Pastor Terrill Randle. Burial will follow under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home at Mitchell County Cemetery, Colorado City, Texas.
