Obituary for James Melvin Whitefield
James Melvin Whitefield, age 74, passed away in Snyder on Saturday, February 4th, 2023.
A Memorial service will be on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at East Side Church of Christ, 201 31st St.,
Snyder, Texas 79549 with The Family officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Whitefield was born on June 2nd, 1948 in Stamford, Texas to Emmitt Melvin and Edna Mae (Smithson) Whitefield. He was a member of East Side Church of Christ, a Deacon for many years, involved with The Mesquite Country Christian Community, a National Guard, enjoyed singing and was strong in his Christian Faith.
He is survived by
Wife, Paula Whitefield of Snyder, TX;
3 Sons, David Pinkstaff and wife Brenda of Austin, TX, Andy Whitefield and wife Alissa of Snyder and Lane Whitefield and wife Elizabeth of Snyder, TX;
6 Grandchildren, Anastasia, Cody, Tanner, Logan, Lauren and Madison;
5 Great-Grandchildren;
2 Brothers, Barrett Whitefield of Odessa, TX and Tom Whitefield of Odessa, TX;
2 Sisters, Rhonda Herrington and husband Joe of Santa Clarita, CA and La Nell Whitefield Ahenbern of Odessa, TX;
numerous Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Extended Family.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Emmitt Melvin and Edna Mae (Smithson) Whitefield.
