Frances was born in San Angelo, Texas to Dan Charles and Ora Mae Blair on December 30, 1936. She

school at the age of sixteen. Frances met Clint McCowen in Snyder, Texas while cruising the drag with friends. Clint proposed to Frances at the top of Fluvanna Hill. Clint and Frances married on December 23, 1953.
Clint was drafted shortly into the Army soon after their wedding and was stationed in Louisiana for two
years. After he was honorably discharged, Clint and Frances returned to Snyder where they settled and
spent their lives raising children and cotton. Frances had a gift for hospitality. Family and friends were always welcome. If you stayed long enough, you were sure to be invited to stay for a meal and served Frances’s famous sweet tea. Frances’s gift extended to her church. She loved the Lord and served at Calvary Baptist for many years. She was recognized on Mother’s Day weekend 2005 for her faithful service.
