Obituary for Clarence Wade Shook

On Thursday, December 31, 2020, Clarence Wade Shook, loving Husband, Father and Grandfather, went to be with the Lord at 89.

Clarence was born on April, 22, 1931 in Wichita Falls, TX to Jay & Anna (Hamilton) Shook. He attended Midwestern University and later enlisted in the Army November 1952 during the Korean War stationed outside Bordeaux, France attached to the Air Force where he assisted in building a base and setting up a supply line. He met his first wife, Alberte Ribot Galloway and was married in France. On discharge in 1954, he & Alberte returned to Wichita Falls, TX where they raised their two daughters, Carolene & Shawn. Later, Clarence divorced and remarried Tonya Holmes spending 43 loving years together in Southern Oklahoma and later in Snyder, TX.
Clarence was a devote Christian man. He was an ordained Deacon by City View Baptist Church in Wichita Falls. He helped establish the Chapparal Baptist Assembly Camp in Iowa Park, TX and later, built, remodeled and added on to 4 different churches in Southern Oklahoma. In Snyder he assisted and built numerous ramps for the disabled and elderly during his retirement years. He was always generous with his time and resources throughout his lifetime. He was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church and a U.S. Army and Air Force Veteran. His generous spirit will be missed.

4 Daughters, Carolene Folse and husband Lance of Denton, TX, Shawn Hardin of Colorado Springs, CO, Shanna Covington and husband Harry Hunt of Snyder, TX and Cheryl Clark and husband Steve of Tyler, TX;
Mother of Carolene and Shawn, Alberta Galloway of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Clarence was preceded in death by his father, Jay Shook, mother, Anna Shook, 2 brothers Dale Shook & Ralph Shook, and sister, Velma Johnston.
