Barbara Ann (Britton) Odom passed away on March 27, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

Visitation for family and friends is Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Miller Family Funeral Home in Snyder, Texas. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 10:00am at Avenue D Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Barbara was born on September 4, 1946 to Harold and Eva Britton in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Barbara graduated from Post High School in 1965. She married Daniel “Danny” Odom on October 16, 1965, in Post, Texas. Together, they raised two sons, Todd, and Tracy.

Barbara and Danny made their life in Snyder, Texas, where she was a devoted wife and mother. Barbara lived out her faith daily through Jesus Christ and served as secretary at Avenue D Baptist Church until February of 2023. She loved to sew and loved supporting her grandchildren in their athletic endeavors from cheerleading and basketball, to baseball, football, powerlifting and taekwondo. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of a daily relationship with Jesus Christ.

In her later years, she discovered a love of substitute teaching within Snyder ISD where she blessed the lives of many young students.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years as well as a brother, Harold “Buddy” Britton.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Todd and wife Laurie of Bailey, Colorado; Tracy and wife Amy of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Jessica McMullen and husband Colby; Kell Odom; Trey Odom and wife, Clancy; Jada Odom; Sam Odom and Jake Odom; two great granddaughters, Maren and Micah; two sisters, Debra Sifford and husband Earl; and Sue Dotson along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Avenue D Baptist Church, Snyder, Texas, or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank Dr. Joel Landry and his staff for the excellent care provided for Barbara. The family would also like to express appreciation to Dr. Kevin Hough and the nurses on the second floor at Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
