Obituary for A. L. Silmon

Al Silmon, age 90, passed away in Lubbock on Friday, February 28th, 2020.

Family Visitation is planned for Friday, March 6th, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at 11:00 am at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel 200 E. 37th Street Snyder, Texas 79549 with Gloria Dunkins officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home at Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Silmon was born on June 20th, 1929 in Jacksonville, Texas to Thurlo and Goldie (Stewart) Silmon. He married Juanita Simmons on June 21, 1947 in Jacksonville, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2004. He was an employee for E.L. Key Grain for over 40 years. He loved his Grandchildren, fishing, playing dominoes and working on lawn equipment. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Daughter, Anita Malone and husband Herman of Lubbock, TX;
3 Grandsons, Zuri Malone of Dallas, TX, Alkeli Silmon and wife Billie of Lubbock, TX and Camar Jackson of El Paso, TX;
9 Granddaughters, Sherasa Thomas and husband Eric of Dallas, TX, Nikki Miller and husband Adrian of Austin, TX, Diana Andrews of Austin, TX, Yulon Malone of Dallas, TX, Tori Borens, Sherne Borens, Latoya Clayton and husband Arrlington, all of Arlington, TX, Laterica Jackson of Midland, TX and Cassandra Frye of Houston, TX;
Brother, Alvin Lee Silmon of Dallas, TX;
4 Sisters, Louise Silmon of Florida, Rose Nell Walker of Snyder, TX, Lonnie Mae Silmon of Phoenix, AZ and Pearlie Jo Beverly of Waco, TX;
and a host of Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by Parents, Thurlo and Goldie (Stewart) Silmon; Wife, Juanita Silmon; Grandson, Cedrick Andrews and 2 Brothers, Billy Jack and Buddy Mack Scott.
