Obituary for Alonso Silva

Alonso Silva, age 59, passed away in San Angelo on Tuesday, January 31st, 2023.

Memorial service will be on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel, 200 E. 37th Street, Snyder, Texas 79549. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

He was born to the late Elias and Maria Silva, in Del Rio, Texas, on August 8th, 1963. He graduated from Colorado City High School, in 1983. Upon graduation, he worked to help care for his mother, with whom he was very close too and adored. Upon her passing and his unfortunate health complications, Alonso was relocated to Mitchell County Rehabilitation Center, where he resided for the remainder of his life.

While there, Alonso made several lifelong friends and easily became one of the resident's favorites. He was known as a kind, loving and compassionate man, with such a beautiful soul. He loved the simple things in life, such as dancing to a good tune, relaxing while watching a movie or simply just greeting people as they entered the facility.

There is nothing Alonso loved more than his precious family. He'd always show off his pictures and tell his friends and staff how much he cared for them. He was known for having the memory of an elephant so whenever someone wanted to reminisce about their childhood, he would spend hours recalling vivid memories and moments that were once forgotten, in time.

He always looked forward to going on mini-vacations with his sister Connie, to visit with family and friends. Partly because he knew she'd always cave in and get him his favorite food, a hamburger.

Alonso was truly an Angel on Earth, that will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Alonso is survived by his four siblings, Connie Rocha, Patricia Roseman, Ruben Siva and Elias Silva/ He was preceded in death by his parents.
