Obituary for Jesse Denver Faulkenbery III

Jesse Denver Faulkenbery III was born on March 15, 1945, in Richmond, California, to Jesse Denver Faulkenbery Jr. and Clorette (Brown) Faulkenbery. The Faulkenbery family moved to Texas in 1949 and Jesse attended school in Snyder until his graduation in 1963. He met the love of his life in 1967 and he and Carolyn Stewart were married on August 24, 1968. Jesse and Carolyn called Snyder their home for the last 50 years, raising three sons, Marc, Paul and Stephen.

Jesse had three passions in his life, first and foremost, the love for our Savior, Jesus Christ, second, the bond and love for his family and third, the love of music and serving God through his music. Jesse loved to study the bible and talk with anyone he could about his love for Jesus.. This gift continued on when he was lead to Bethel Baptist Church where he preached throughout the 80's. Having to leave the pulpit for health reasons, he never stopped being a disciple for Jesus, leading many to our Savior.

Jesse loved his family and was so proud of his three sons and the fact the Faulkenbery name would live on within each son. Jesse and Carolyn raised their three boys with the foundation built on the word of God and this was passed on to each of their families. Over the last (23) twenty-three years, Jesse's family grew with three beautiful daughters-in-law, Jennifer, Marc's Jennifer as commonly referred to in the family, Sherry and Jennifer or Stephen's Jennifer. He was blessed with (6) six grand kids, Jordyn, Rachel, Bailey, Ryan, Austin and Natalie. He was so proud of each kid and loved them so very much.

Jesse's third passion was his music. He was so talented and was one of the best guitar pickers ever known, He very well could have picked country music for any well-known talent, but refused to play in a smoky bar on Saturday night and serve God on Sunday in Church, even though he often said it would probably be the same crowd. Jesse served God throughout his life and shared the Word with many. As 2 Timothy tells us, Preach the word, be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction. We can honestly say, Jesse lived his passage, he took the gift of music and talking to people and shared the Word. Jesse, it is time to rest in peace, we will carry on your passion and be the disciple you have taught us to be.
