Obituary for Rosie Lee Barnes (Sanders)

Rosie Lee Barnes, age 98, of Snyder, was called home to her Heavenly home on Sunday, May 1st, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

Services for Mrs. Barnes will be Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 AM at Miller Family Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Dunkins officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6 PM to 7 PM at Miller Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barnes was born September 15, 1917 in Scurry County to Mr. and Mrs. Sanders. She married Gussie Barnes. Rosie was the church mother of New Hope Baptist Church. She was known for her unique style, always dressing up, even just sitting around the house. She always talked about the goodness of the Lord, being a child of God, always praying and reading her bible.

She is preceded in death her parents, her husband, sister Josefine Sanders, 2 daughters Joretter Collins and Louise Scott, 3 sons Gussie Jr., Willie and Calvin Barnes.
